Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

In fact, every day in Australia, 9 people will die by suicide.

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them. 

This October, I’ll be taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute, so that they can put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

Day 29 - 4.26km run

My first outdoor run in years! I’ve been putting in a few runs on the treadmill, and today I thought I would brave the great outdoors… not exactly the best splits, but a run is a run 😀

Day 27 - 4.92km run

Treadmill interval run - my interval run speeds were the highest they’ve gotten for a long time!

Day 21 - 3.84km run

Quick gym stop after work, headphones were flat!!! Put in half an hour…

Day 20 - 1.99km walk

Work trip and got in a quick treadmill workout at the Tennant Creek

Lovely Sunday morning walk with a friend before it got too hot…

Day 8 - 5.1km run

Work trip to Darwin, straight to the gym at the hotel on arrival, got in the 5km…

Day 6 - 6.53km run

Sunday morning into the gym, to push out a treadmill workout - 1 hour 6 minutes, with some walking and running intervals… have earned some relax on the couch!

Day 5 - 6.57km run

Hit the gym this morning to do an interval workout - max speed 10km/hour, feel like I’m getting there slowly. Nice evening walk tonight with the family, after a local event.

Day 4 - 8.28km walk

Beautiful long walk with my son tonight, just after a big rain.

Day 3 - 5.0km run

That was a tough one, interval runs on the treadmill combined with a migraine coming on in the last 15 minutes… got it done…

Day 2 - 3.14km walk

I didn’t have much time today, so only got in 3.14km

Day 1 - 5.5km walk

The goal? 5km a day… No frills today, just got it done.
