My Updates

Even in Rest, We Walk Together

In the first week of the One Foot Forward challenge, I’ve unfortunately fallen sick and have been bedridden, unable to continue my walks. While this setback is frustrating, I’ve been reminded of the incredible support from those around me.

One especially touching moment came when I received a message from Nic’s daughter, who had just hiked up Le Pouce Mountain, the third-highest peak in Mauritius. Along with a beautiful photo, she sent me the words: “I walked up Le Pouce Mountain, third highest in Mauritius, we are walking for you while you are sick.”

Her gesture reminded me of the strength of community. Even when we can’t take steps ourselves, others are willing to walk for us, offering their support and encouragement.

Although I’ve had to pause my participation, my commitment to raising awareness for mental health remains strong. This journey is not just about physical movement; it’s about connection, healing, and the love we share along the way.

The Power of Community

Though I’ve had to take a break, I am still fully committed to the One Foot Forward challenge and the mission behind it. This isn’t just about my steps—it’s about the collective effort we’re all making to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental health.

Even when I can’t physically take those steps right now, I’m reminded that this journey isn’t just about movement. It’s about connection, healing, and the love we give and receive along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far, and a special thank you to Nic’s daughter for walking with me, even from across the world. I will be back on my feet soon, continuing this journey for everyone who has struggled in silence.

Make a wish on all the rainbows that cross your path as you walk forward one foot in front of the other. Many will be walking beside you, while others, you will carry, making their presence felt. Much love and more Mum
