Support My Walk for Mental Health Research
Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?
In fact, every day in Australia, 9 people will die by suicide.
Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.
This October, I’ll be taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.
I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute, so that they can put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.
Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

Good on you 😁
I’m running in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. I’m running in memory of a particularly special person - Jez. My first love. Jez and my time together was heartbreakingly cut short, but in that short amount of time, we managed to create some very special memories together - there was never a dull moment w Jez. He was full of life - loud, cheeky, opinionated, stubborn, very intelligent, creative, quirky, authentic, sensitive, funny and kind hearted. But under all of this, what I came to know as his protective armour, he was battling a very long and hard fight with mental ill-being. Jez would probably laugh at the fact that I am running as tribute to him, but he always admired my passion and determination, and used to joke about my competitive streak. When we first started dating, Jez was going on a few runs and would tell me proudly that he had just gotten back from a run - shortly following he would proceed to send me a photo of him devouring a burger - a meal well deserved and hard to ignore on the way home from his run (and at his favourite local burger shop) he would cheekily add. Something I will definitely be indulging in at the end of October. I hope the waters are full of trout, wherever you are Jem, that there’s trinkets galore for you to tinker away at, that you’ve got yourself a nice loaded parma, and a cold beer. I hope you’re with your mum, and your dogs. I hope you’re at peace. I hope you know how much you were loved, are loved, and how much you’re missed. I don’t have many words to say, other than, please, speak up, talk to your friends, talk to your community, lean on others and let people in, let people help you. The world is not better off without you - the world shatters without you. Jez, I love you to our Jude’s and back, always.
