Message of Support

As someone who lives with mental illnesses and goes through cycles I know how hard it can be. Sometimes all I want to do is stay home and be a hermit. My own health mentally and physically go up and down. I have periods where I find it easy to get out and walk, run and exercise and times where it is so hard to even think about it. I could not get through my days without God and a very short list of people I really trust and lean on. I’m walking and running in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone.

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

In fact, every day in Australia, 9 people will die by suicide.

Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them.

This month, I’ll be taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact of mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute, so that they can put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Another good run

Some days are easier to get up and go for a run. It was hard to get up last week and when I did I didn't manage a full run, more a walk and jog.

Today I ran 4.7k in 29 minutes which is quicker than my other run of the same km and that makes me feel pretty good.

I am hoping that in doing this to help others it also helps me get back on track with my own health and fitness.

Second good run

After my own hermitisation recently I have now been out a few times. After some set backs over the last few months both mentally and physically I am beginning the journey back to a healthier me and also helping others and the awareness of just how mental illness affects people and how differently it affects each one.
